Program 2021
ZWINK is an object-costume dance in public space that invests in encounter and consists of improvisation – music and dance – in immediate response to what we find in a square, in a park, in front of a church, walking through the city: in Robert Kis’ costume object.
Over the years both of these performers and makers have been tuning, refining and engaging compositionally and in performances to work the elements of music, words, dancing.
Δtopia is a contemporary dance and sonic arts performance by Die Wolke art group that uses sensor interfaces to facilitate the electronic interaction between movement and sound, by measuring attributes of motion in real time.
Each for himself, separated from others, blind behind the mask, everyone is alone. The hidden face holds a longing, and the open skin awaits the pain of touch. The eyes of the skin are awake.
Six dance music films/videos were invited to the program from the festival’s Open Call, among others, and will be screened at DOCK11 as part of a walk-through screening.
Following the video dance With the Eyes of the Skin in the debut of its version with audio description. Three partners collaborated on this project as choreographer, audio describer and production manager/performer. They discuss what it means to produce art by, with and for people with disabilities.
What happens when you leave your homeland, your mother language and common sense, and you enter into this uncertain space where there are no longer references?
Labyrinth is about a woman’s struggle with her memories. Playful, funny, and at times tragic.
A collaboration between artists from Germany and Sweden within four art forms – equally weighted to create a dance theater piece.
hara is a solo improvisation by violinist and performer Harald Kimmig. He combines his playing on the violin and electric violin with movement, always with the question: Which movement creates which sound and which sound creates which movement?
‘Code’ uses dance and sound to create a new sensory language. The collaboration between Katherine Leung and percussionist Petros Tzekos, draws inspiration from morse-code, braille and ASL.
